Spoilers
Within the earlier episode, Gang Cheol and Yeo Ri clashed with the Eight Ft Tall spirit, solely to be overwhelmed by its unexpectedly immense energy. Banished from the capital by King Yi Jeong (Kim Ji Hun), who forbade all shamanic rites, Gang Cheol and Yeo Ri set off for Naebulsan Mountain seeking ritual instruments belonging to the shamaness Neob Deok (Gil Hae Yeon).
Within the newly launched stills, Gang Cheol stands within the royal library, gripping the crescent-shaped woldo (Korean polearm) with steely willpower, his deep purple robes billowing round him. His presence within the king’s archives hints at his return to the palace. In entrance of a large wall of talismans, Gang Cheol holds the huge woldo with ease, his charisma heightening the stress within the scene.
Surrounded by an ethereal teal glow and divine power radiating from the woldo’s curved edge, Gang Cheol absolutely embodies the traditional energy of the thousand-year-old Imugi. His woke up, nearly superhero-like transformation raises anticipation for his fated rematch with the terrifying spirit.
The subsequent episode of “The Haunted Palace” airs on Could 2 at 9:55 p.m. KST.
