The Bachchans have been in the news a lot for the past few months, especially regarding Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan’s married life. For months, there were reports that the couple was heading for a divorce. While the duo never said anything, several theories came up on why they are having an alleged separation. Even Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan remained silent when the whole speculation was going on.
However, in the past, Amitabh Bachchan was not someone who would just stay quiet. Once, he had an emotional outburst over articles written about his daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In a strongly worded post, he even defended his son’s wife. Back in 2010, some media publications wrote that the actress is not able to conceive as she has stomach tuberculosis.
Strongly reacting to the same, Big B wrote, “I write to you today in deep anguish, pain, and disgust. This article is completely false, fabricated, unsubstantiated, insensitive, and represents the lowest form of journalism. I am the head of my family. Aishwarya is not my daughter-in-law; she is my daughter, a woman, a lady in my house and home. If anyone speaks ill of her, I will defend her till my last breath. If you have something to say, direct it at Abhishek or me—I can take it. But if you speak disrespectfully about the women in my family, I will not tolerate it!”
Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan welcomed their daughter Aaradhya in 2011. Ever since the divorce rumours started, even Aaradhya was not spotted with her father and grandparents. However, in December, Ash and Abhi squashed all the separation rumours when they arrived together for Aaradhya’s annual school function.
