Varun Dhawan commits fully to Border 2, goes all out to deliver his best [Exclusive]

Border 2 is one of the most anticipated films of recent times. It is a sequel to JP Dutta’s 1997 film Border. This time, Sunny Deol is joined by Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty and the filming began in December 2024. The film is slated to release in January 2026. We hear that Varun has been very excited about the project and he is leaving no stone unturned to give this his best. An industry insider privy to the details shared with us that Varun is going all out for Border 2. This is not only his big action movie but also his first war drama and he wants to bring his best to the table. “Varun has been training hard for his role. He knows that looking the part is the easier bit given how fit he has always been. He is playing an army man and getting the demeanour right as well as his delivery is what he is focusing on,” said the source further revealing that the cast knows that their project is not just another film but one with which audiences have huge expectations. “Border 2 is a sequel of a cult hit and there will be huge expectations and the cast and crew is aware of the responsibility. Varun is ensuring that he does his bit to give the audience what they want,” shared the source. VD is known for his hard work and dedication and he has always left fans in awe whenever he has worked with a director who knows just the right way to get the best out of him. The actor is popular for his comic timing and is the perfect romantic hero, however, he seems to be looking to establish himself as an intense, action hero as well and we feel he is on the right track. Last year, he was seen in action entertainer Baby John directed by Kalees and Raj & DK’s Citadel: Honey Bunny.

While Border was directed by JP Dutta and also starred Sunny Deol, Border 2 will be helmed by Anurag Singh. He has previously directed films like Kesari starring Akshay Kumar, Punjab 1984, Jatt & Juliet both starring Diljit Dosanjh and Dil Bole Hadippa with Shahid Kapoor and Rani Mukerji.
