This movie remained a lot in the news as it was an ambitious project that was expected to fly high. It had an international setting and was expected to be a blockbuster hit. However, it tanked at the box office.
Meet Mexican actress Barbara Mori
The movie in discussion is Kites and the actress is Barbara Mori. The Mexican actress featured with Hrithik Roshan in the film that was directed by Anurag Basu. The Hindi version of the film was produced by Rakesh Roshan. From its storyline to the setup, the movie was expected to be larger-than-life. It also had a steamy kissing scene between Barbara Mori and Hrithik Roshan that raised a lot of eyebrows. It opened in around 2300 screens all over. However, it failed! It failed to pull audiences to the theatres and it proved to be the last Hindi film of Barbara Mori. The actress has not be seen in a Bollywood film since then.
Barbara Mori featured in quite a few Mexican films after Kites. Her latest release was Lucca’s World. The movie released on Netflix this year, 2025. During the promotions of the movie, Barbara Mori was asked about her return to Bollywood. To News18 Showsha, she said, “I would love to make a comeback in Bollywood. If you invite me, I will definitely come.” Will she? Let’s see.
