Preventing piracy on a 100 percent note is completely impossible in this digital era. The producers are trying their best to prevent the spread of the pirated versions from leaking online. Some low quality prints of the new releases will be out and it is quite common. Most of them are not much interested to watch the low quality versions of the leaks and they wait for the OTT release. Tollywood is left in shock after the HD quality of the movies are leaked on the day of the release. It happened with Ram Charan’s Game Changer recently and today Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel HD copy got leaked.
This is a serious threat for Telugu film industry and this brings a huge dent for the box-office numbers. The producers have to investigate it on a serious note and prevent such leaks in the future. Else, the collections of every big film will be in trouble. A major portion of the theatrical revenue will be driven out and a section would watch HD copies online instead of rushing to theatres. Strict measures should be implemented by the Producers and collective decisions should be made. Special teams should be formed to reach out the traces and nab the real culprits. This is going to be a serious threat for Telugu cinema.
