Star kids always draw attention. It is not a recent phenomena. From Sunny Deol, Salman Khan to Alia Bhatt, Aryan Khan and now Taimur Ali Khan, star kids have always been in the spotlight. Thus, there is a lot of hullabaloo when a star kid marks his/her debut. Here’s a story of a star whose debut drew attention as it turned out to be a flop. His father is considered to be one of the most prolific and charming actors industry has ever seen. However, his son took a rocky start in Bollywood.

Despite the debut film not being a hit as expected, this actor did not lose hopes. His next film, in fact, turned out to be a major hit. His personal life also kept him in the news. Hs name was once linked to Karisma Kapoor.


The star is Akshaye Khanna.

Vinod Khanna’s son made his Bollywood debut with film Himalay Putra in the year 1997. He played the role of Abhay in the film. Vinod Khanna was a part of it too. However, the film flopped at the box office. But the same year, Border released. The multi-starrer war drama was a blockbuster hit. He then appeared in films like Mohabbat, Doli Saja Ke Rakhna, Aa Ab Laut Chalen, Laawaris and more. Akshaye Khanna played pivotal roles in movies like Dil Chahta Hai and Taal. His breakthrough moment was considered to be when he appeared in the movie Humraaz. He played a character with grey shades and was loved by all. Akshaye Khanna then appeared in movies like Race, Drishyam 2, Ittefaq and more.

His personal life his less spoken about. But reportedly, there were rumours linking him and Karisma Kapoor. Reportedly, Karisma’s father wanted her to marry Akshaye. A proposal for marriage was also allegedly sent but Babita Kapoor objected to this union. Thus, Akshaye and Karisma parted ways.

The actor remains to be single at the age of 49. He once spoke about marriage and quoted to Hindustan Times, “I don’t see myself (getting married). I’m not marriage material, as they say. I’m not cut out for that kind of… (we ask if it’s commitment)… not that, but that kind of life. It’s a commitment, but a drastic lifestyle change. Marriage changes everything. I want full control over my life. When you share your life with somebody else, you can’t have full control. You have to give a lot of control away. You share each other’s lives.”
