We are talking about Komal Mahuvakar, also known as Rupini who started her career as a child artist in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Mili. Rupini was her stage name. She did two more movies as a child artist and later played a lead role with Payal Ki Jhankar. She was seen in Meri Adalat with Rishi Kapoor. She became a big name soon and worked in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada films. She was a big competition for Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Madhuri Dixit at that time. However, she left the industry. She got married to Mohan Kumar in 1995 and quit her acting career to focus on her family life. After a few years, she opened a hospital for ailing patients in Chembur and named it Universal Heart Hospital. However, years later, Komal aka Rupini made a comeback to the entertainment industry. She did a popular TV show titled Woh Rehne Wali Mahalon Ki. Again, she took a gap and returned 26 years later in Tamil industry with TV show, Chitthi 2.

Komal aka Rupini’s father was a lawyer and her mother was a dietitian. She started learning dancing at the age of four from Lachhu Maharaj in Mumbai.
