There is one such diva who went against her family to make her place in the Bollywood industry. She started off well in the showbiz but later things became just average for her.
We are talking about Mallika Sherawat. She fought against her father and her family to be a part of films. She was disowned by her father for talking about joining films. For many years, her family did not speak to her. Later, after she established herself, her family accepted her.
She has degree in philosophy from Miranda House, Delhi University. The diva made her acting debut with Kareena Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor’s film Jeena Sirf Mere Liye. It was a supporting role for her and later she did Khwahish, Kis Kis Ki Kismat and more films. She was known for her bold avatar in these movies.
In 2004, she played the lead in Murder and she was appreciated. She got all the love from the audience and gained recognition in Bollywood with this movie. It was a huge box-office success. The film was made on the budget of Rs 5 crore and it collected Rs 22.50 crore at the box office.
However, later we have seen her in supporting roles and doing item songs in movies. She did not get lead roles as such. She has just given 2 hits in her career of 22 years. The actress was recently seen in Triptii Dimri and Vicky Kaushal in the film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video.
