The teaser begins by contrasting heaven’s peaceable magnificence with eerie and chilling glimpses of hell. Individuals plunge into boiling lava, their ghostly figures flickering as their agonized screams echo. When tough arms seize Lee Hae Sook and attempt to pull her off a cliff, she lets out a brief scream—then wakes from her terrifying nightmare.
In the meantime, the director of the Heaven Help Middle (Chun Ho Jin) says in voice-over, “Even Hae Sook herself was uncertain whether or not she deserved to be in heaven.” For her, daily in heaven is stuffed with doubt and nervousness.
As persons are seen going through judgment for his or her sins, the director describes the cruel nature of hell: “A jail of my very own making, constructed from irreversible errors, with no door for forgiveness.”
