Hari Hara Veera Mallu is headlined by Pawan Kalyan and is slated to release in theatres on March 28.
The makers of the period film, Hari Hara Veera Mallu, featuring Tollywood superstar-politician Pawan Kalyan in the lead, unveiled Bollywood star Bobby Deol’s look as part of the actor’s birthday celebrations on Monday. Bobby, who turned 56 on January 27, plays the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb in the upcoming period action drama.
The film’s official handle on X wrote, “Wishing the incomparable, the man of magnetic screen presence Bobby Deol a very Happy Birthday – Team #HariHaraVeeraMallu #HBDBobbyDeol.” Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 Sword vs Spirit, which has been directed by Jyothi Krishna and Krish Jagarlamudi, features Nidhhi Agerwal as the female lead.
As soon as Bobby Deol’s first look from the Pawan Kalyan film was out, netizens compared it to Akshaye Khanna’s look as Aurangzeb from the upcoming Bolllywood historical Chhaava, in which Vicky Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and Rashmika Mandanna plays Maharani Yesubai. Chhaava releases in cinemas on February 14.

One Reddit user wrote, “Indirectly, there’s a battle between Bobby Deol & Akshaye Khanna in Chaava, & as a Bobby Deol fan, I’d say Akshaye Khanna may be winning”, while another added, “Akshaye Khanna is a far superior actor than Bobby Deol. It will be tough for Bobby to match upto him as the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.”
Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 Sword vs Spirit will be released in cinemas on March 28 after facing several delays because of Pawan Kalyan’s political commitments as the actor is now the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He also has two other films lined up for release, Ustaad Bhagat Singh and OG.
