Akshay Kumar‘s Sky Force continues to make headlines for its strong screenplay and even stronger performances. Even though the film had a relatively low-key promotional push, it has been gaining momentum, courtesy word of mouth appreciation. Viewers continue to laud both Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya for doing complete justice to the film, and bringing back this real-life story to life. The film is set during the 1965 Indo-Pakistani air war. This had also marked India’s first major airstrike. For the unversed, the movie revolves around IAF officer T. Vijaya, who goes missing during the conflict. His fellow officer, Om Ahuja, takes on the mission to rescue him. Veer Pahariya has managed to establish himself firmly as one of the bankable actors of this generation with his impressive performance.
Veer Pahariya essays the role of T Krishna Vijaya aka Tabby while Akshay Kumar plays the role of Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja. Nimrat Kaur, Sharad Kelkar and Sara Ali Khan too are part of the movie. The box office numbers of the film has been positive so far. On its opening day, it earned Rs 13.75 crore.
On Day 2, the number increased to Rs 23.75 crore and Rs 26.50 crore on Day 3. The Republic day weekend turned out to be a big blessing for the movie.
But on January 27, the film witnessed a drop. Nonetheless, the film continues to move towards the coveted Rs 100 crore mark. According to Pinkvilla, the film earned Rs 6 crore taking total earnings to Rs 70 crore. Ahead of the next weekend, the film is expected to enter the Rs 100 crore club. This will certainly be a massive success for Akshay Kumar’s film.
Veer Pahariya will reach the Rs 100 crore club with his very first movie itself. The film is directed by Abhishek Anil Kapur and Sandeep Kewlani. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, alongside Jyoti Deshpande under Jio Studios.
